The Guardian and the Washington Post talk of the right "changing the constitution" without mentioning what that means, I think to raise the interest-level of the story to their left-wing readerships. What PO wants to do is to change the constitution in order to give the PM more power, and to abolish the upper house of Polish parliament, the Senat. Not good news if you're not a Jan Rokita fan, but it's consistent with their platform of making government more efficient.

Abortion is already illegal in Poland (though still practiced), and they haven't promised to change the constitution to define marriage as between only a man and a woman.

Though it's possible, and they would have the votes...
