And now we can mourn
While I could take this space to comment on a number of the day's political issues (especially my favorite, foreign policy), I have no strength for it. Goodbye hockey-- wherever you are.

Modano is talking about the cancellation of the season makes him a free agent, able to sign a long term contract with a European team.
Are all NHL contract null and void with the expiration of the CBA, and the cancellation of the season, or did that just count as his final season under his old contract.
Seems the union's "principle" went to hell at the 11th hour. All the sudden a salary cap was OK. They (the players) are getting some bad press over that move, and some players are acting like they were surprised.
Man, there is nothing I love more than seeing a demanding union busted, especially a bunch of millionaire union members.. I hope they get a real dose of reality playing in the minors for less money than their insurance costs.
And I hope the owners franchises value goes down to freakin zero.
I guess I will have to start getting into Nascar, I hear that Tony Steward is a goon.
I don't know about the contracts, but it seems to me the owners have forfeited their right to any of the players they've got.
Not such a NASCAR fan.
But can you imagine? All they've got over here is soccer. *shiver*
I've actually begun to follow it.
Beggars can't be choosers.
I never watched a NASCAR race until I moved to Virginia.
It was a choice between Redskins propaganda, or NASCAR. That was a toughie. On Sunday night newscast they would lead with Nascar...unbeliveable.
I have since found out thats its just Modano's contract has expired...Guerrin is still tied up. Which I thought that the decision to sew the "C" on Modano's uniform, after you stole Hatcher, was a very bad politically correct choice. Great player when he wants to be, always a great guy personally, but he don't have a leadership bone in his body.
I am hearing now, that the Union is shopping around for a sympathetic liberal activist federal judge, who will keep the owners from using replacement players next year. Thats going to REALLY piss me off. I guess if they cant have their millions, nobody gets to watch hockey.
